Marriage Counseling
I provide weekly and twice a week psychodynamic, relational couples therapy. Research shows that couples are learning to communicate effectively now more than ever (Kift, 2017, as cited in Gottman, 2024). As such, couples therapy can be an in-depth experience for you and your partner to examine how certain issues came to be, how you have attempted to resolve them, and how this space can help you find a new path forward. My process is one where I work to understand both partner’s experiences within the relationship and to provide tools and skill-building to increase the efficacy of communication and overall connection. To that end, I like to interweave several modalities into couples therapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems, and emotion-focused therapy (EFT) so as to supply you and your partner with multiple ways of understanding each other in the future.
Additionally, I have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ couples, couples exploring polyamory or ENM relationships, couples exploring family expansion or deciding if they should have children, and couples experiencing fertility issues.
If you think couples therapy might be beneficial for your relationship, or should you have any questions about getting the process started, please feel free to contact me.
